Welcome Message

＜Welcome Letter ＞

It is a great honor to contribute to the upcoming annual meeting for Low Temperature Medicine, which will take place in Makuhari next summer.  It has been more than 10 years since I have been involved in ‘low temperature medicine (LMT)’ with my research theme on cryopreserved heart valve and vascular tissue (so-called ‘Homograft’) and got to realize wide range of contribution of LMT based on ‘cryopreservation’ and ‘cryodestruction’, that this particular technique corresponds to many different field including diagnostic, therapeutic, and cell-/ tissue-banking and transplantation, possibly providing variety of treatment options. LTM has a unique and identical entity that cannot be replaced with any other technology, and because of these reasons continuous efforts on research and practice regarding LMT need to be made. This year we focused on the future of LMT by recognizing its history and recent practice, for further development of LMT for our future and our medical field. We hope all the participants will enjoy the lectures and session. See you soon at Makuhari!

 ＜開催にあたって ＞

この度2018年夏に幕張にて開催される第45回日本低温医学会総会の会長を拝命いたしました。

私自身の低温医学との関わりは、大学院での研究テーマであった「組織の凍結保存、心臓弁・大血管ホモグラフトの基礎と臨床」がきっかけでした。　低温即ち「冷やす」「凍らせる」ことは「組織の保護・保存」「組織破壊」の2つの側面が存在し、更に枝分かれし多方面に活用されてきたことは良く知られております。　この「低温」を用いた様々な医療技術は技術面でも緩徐かつ確実に進化を遂げてきております。

第45回大会では「低温医学」が活用されている多くの局面を再確認し、今後の発展に向けた糸口となることを期待いたします。
この日本低温医学会を創立し発展にご尽力をされた故隅田幸男先生に捧げる明日への提言ができることを切に願っております。

多分に若輩者としてこのような大役を賜り非常に光栄に存じております。参加者の方々に十分愉しんでいただけるような学会開催を目指し事務局一同で企画・運営してまいります。

The Fee for the congress included participation in the congress, Program and abstract book, lunch on Saturday. Registration fees are in Japanese Yen (¥). Unfortunately, credit cards cannot be accepted.

Information for the Chair and Presenter

1) Official languages are English or Japanese. All the slides should be made in English.
2) Oral Presentations can only be made with Windows PCs (single screen only) . Slide projectors are not
available.
3) Windows Microsoft Office / Windows10 is available in the venue. Presentation files must be in Windows
PowerPoint Ver. 2010 to 2016. Please bring your presentation data stored on a USB flash memory
drive or CD-R. If your presentation file is made using Macintosh, please bring your own PC with
cable, if necessary. Make sure the cable is successfully connected by using the monitor for preview at
the PC Center. We provide D-sub 15 pin (mini) cable and Mini Display port to VGA Adapter. Some
notebook computers may require the connector accompanying the unit. If so, bring it with you.
4) The projection screen for your session has 16:9. To avoid display problems with your presentation, use
only standard OS fonts such as Times New Roman, Arial, Arial Black, Arial Narrow, Century, Century
Gothic, or Georgia.
5) If you would like to use video in your presentation, we recommend that you use your PC or test it 40
min before presentation.
6) Please bring your own AC adaptor and power cable to the venue to avoid battery trouble.
7) Please cancel screen-saver and sleep/power-saving settings of your PC monitor beforehand.
8) Please come to “next chair’s / presenter’s seat” at least 10 minutes prior to scheduled presentation time.

Instruction for Presentation

1) Please visit the PC Center, at least 40 minutes prior to your presentation in order to check your presentation.
2) Please hand in your PC to the PC operator desk located in the right corner of the Conference room at
least 15 min. before your presentation.
3) During your presentation, speakers are requested to operate the PC themselves using mouse and monitor
at the speaker’s podium.
4) After your presentation, immediately come to the PC operator desk to pick up your PC.
